As the cousins were leaving, we cleaned house (and did it ever need it . . . and it's still not quite done). There is nothing quite so satisfying as cleaning a truly messy/dirty house. The stark difference between the two--dirty and clean--is so sharp a contract that there is nothing but satisfaction when you walk (or are finally able to walk) across clean carpet and a freshly swept and mopped floor. I think all of us feel this sense of relief and peace when order is restored. Yes, I am crazy. And I do love a clean house--but even more than that, I love a house full of joyful noise of people I love. So it's a double joy--having my loved ones around and once they leave, enjoying the joy of order being restored once again. I think I may possibly be on the spectrum after writing this . . . but lets be honest . . . aren't we all? After the great cleaning . . . we brought two cousins up to their dad and found Henry and Chloe to feast on Sushi ...
